• Non–exam assessment 60% Synoptic Project (21 hours in school completion window). Internally marked and externally moderated.
• Examined assessment 40% written exam (1hour 30 minutes). Externally marked.
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course. All formal assessment with take place in Year 11.
The NCFE qualification gives a balance between practical skill development with acquisition of some theoretical knowledge. The course is designed to allow students to apply their learning to everyday events. In particular, it is expected that students will gain some insights into the world of work using a variety of methods to do so.
Students do not need any previous experience in this subject to opt for it.
Provides a good foundation for learners in Post 16 education or entry into job roles within business. Progression is available to other vocational qualifications at Level 3 (eg. National Extended Certificate in Business) or competency based courses (NVQ) or their corresponding apprenticeships.
