What is the Course?

ASDAN's established Personal Development Programmes (Bronze, Silver and Gold) offer imaginative ways of developing, recording and certificating a wide range of young people's personal qualities, abilities and achievements, as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges.

The student book contains the following modules: Beliefs and Values; Expressive Arts; The Wider World; Science and Technology; World of Work; Health and Survival; Number Handling; The Environment; Home Management; Sport and Leisure; The Community; Communication.

What will I learn?

You will take on a series of challenges in the following Areas:

Communication, Citizenship and Community, Sport and Leisure, Independent Living, The Environment, Vocational Preparation, Health and Fitness, Work Related Learning and Enterprise, Science and Technology, International links, Expressive Arts, Beliefs and Values.

The challenges allow you to gain credits towards Bronze, Silver and Gold. The aim is to achieve Bronze in Year 9, Silver in Year 10 and Gold in Year 11.

How will I be assessed?

6 Credits (approx. 60 hours) are needed to achieve Bronze

12 Credits (approx. 120 hours) are needed to achieve Silver

18 Credits (approx. 180 hours) are needed to achieve Gold

When will I be assessed?

Continual ongoing assessment of a portfolio of evidence. There are no exams.

Additional Information

A range of work-related skills, including project skills, will be developed as part of this pathway.

What will this qualification allow me to do?

To have the confidence and basic skills to move on to college or the workplace to pursue a higher level course.
