Effective governance is essential for our schools' success, providing strategic leadership, overseeing financial and academic performance, and supporting and challenging senior leaders.
Each school within the Trust is monitored by an Academies Standards Committee (ASC), which evaluates the school's performance and supports and challenges the headteacher and senior leadership team. The ASC operates as a committee under the Board of Trustees, the governing body for the entire Trust.
As an ASC member of the Hanley and Upton Educational Trust, you can significantly impact a school's success, support local children and youth, and utilise your skills to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils. This role also offers the opportunity to explore various aspects of education and gain valuable experience that can benefit other areas of your life. No specific qualifications are necessary, and we provide support and training.
If you are over 18, and willing and able to commit your time and energy, you could be the person we need.
The Code of Conduct outlined here details the expected standards of behavior for ASC members. All members must complete a declaration of interests form and disclose any relevant interests.
