HCHS Wins School of the Year 2018

We are absolutely delighted to have won the title of Secondary School of the Year at the Worcestershire Education Awards 2018. The school was recognised for its rich combination of traditional values and forward thinking, as well as offering an all‐round excellence – including fantastic GCSE and A level results, a strong focus on STEM subjects, a thumping heartbeat of musical tradition, diverse global links and unmatched support for children who are vulnerable or who have additional learning needs. The judges all agreed however, the school’s most special feature is the way in which every child is known, cared for and supported as an individual.

Excitingly, Julia Husband, the school’s special education needs coordinator (SENCO) was awarded SENCO of the Year, for the second year running.

The awards were presented by Olympic Gold Medallist swimmer Duncan Goodhew. He shared his journey of swimming success and his experiences being dyslexic. He now writes for the Financial Times and Sunday Telegraph.
