On 18th June, a group of Year 10 and Year 12 pupils went to Warwick University to experience the amazing labs that they have on offer. 30 pupils synthesized their own aspirin and paracetamol then checked the purity of their chemicals using TLC plates and infrared spectroscopy.
The pupils were amazing and received a real taste of chemistry at university level. The labs are run by former Hanley Castle High School pupil, Sam Troughton, who is enjoying a successful career with Warwick University.
