Book Brothers - Reading Together

This week we started a new collaboration between Y7 and Y9 boys. We've called it Book Brothers and it is inspired by Matt Pinkett and Mark Roberts' book "Boys don't Try?". Y7 and Y9 boys are paired up to enable Y7 to read aloud to Y9s in the school library.

In preparation Y9 volunteers have been working with Mr Rew to learn how to pick out character traits in the books chosen by Y7 to enable them to pose thoughtful questions in order to help the discussions about characters and emotions within the books. It's a great leadership opportunity for Y9 and a chance to work with other year groups, something we've really missed during Covid restrictions. Seeing so many students in the library reading together has been wonderful.

We look forward to this continuing throughout the remainder of the school year.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved.
