Hanley Castle High School became an Academy on 1st August 2011 and more recently a Multi Academy Trust on 1 April 2017 along with Kempsey Primary School, Hanley Swan, St Gabriel’s with St. Mary’s C of E Primary School and Welland Primary School forming the name of the Hanley and Upton Educational Trust (HUET).
As a Multi Academy Trust, the Articles of Association allow for the HUET to consist of up to 5 members and 9 trustees.
In addition each school has an Academy Standards Committee which consists of up to three Parent committee members, three Staff committee members (including the Headteacher), and up to 5 Appointed committee members. For church schools there will also be a Diocesan appointed Governor.

The HUET is a charitable company responsible for the successful operation of all HUET academies. Its role is strategic and it delegates day to day management of the School to the Headteacher and the Academy Standards Committee.

The Foundation is the owner of the School’s land and buildings at Hanley Castle and is represented on the Academy Standards Committee, The Trustees are:
